Etsy Must Haves

Since I've started knitting and crocheting, I now know what yarn bowls are for and I love them!  I am currently using a glass mixing bowl to hold my yarn:  I love how easy my yarn unravels while I crochet.

There are several different dealers on Etsy who make ceramic yarn bowls; I absolutely love New Moon Studio, Handmade Ceramics from Providence Rhode Island.

Take a look at New Moon Studio Shop HERE
These are a few of my favorites!

Fun with Marbled Paper!

My husband and I own a bindery and book restoration company.  Old books, especially of the 19th century, have marbled paper as end-papers; I hand marble paper to use for our restoration projects.  I sell my marbled paper on our Etsy shop HERE.

This week I was thinking of different ways I could use my marbled paper; I thought cute little gift tags would be fun to make using marbled paper, among other things.  So this week I made a bunch of gift tags, and my husband made a few notebooks too!

What do you think?
I had fun making these; they are all backed with card stock for writing on too.

My favorite have to be the tags with gold tassels.
My husband had a great idea of making tags out of some of our handmade paper, and we dipped the edges in gold and copper acrylic paint.
They turned out quite pretty.

These are the cute notebooks my husband made.
He sewed the papers and covered the boards with our marbled paper!
I think they are so cute!

We're traditional bookbinders; we try to stay away from the trendy bookbinding you see on Pinterest these days.  These little notebooks come close to the trendy category, but with our hand marbled paper used for the covers; they are really quite special don't you think?

Etsy Must Have. . .

Our home is full of leather!  We're traditional book binders so we have several different colors of hides in our workshop.  We save every remnant so nothing goes to waste either, and I make fun things like necklaces and bracelets out of the remnants.  Being that we're surrounded by leather, it's seems only natural to be drawn to other leather products, right?  Take a look at this bench!

It's from the shop Spike River on Etsy HERE!  The shop is reletivly new, having opened just this August, but they have fun vintage and antique items listed and I would buy all of them if I could.  They even have old letter press drawers!

The owners Kellan Anderson and Keith Ferreira are from New York, New York.  When you have a moment check out their shop HERE!

Etsy Must Have!

I absolutely love browsing Etsy!  I often find myself making quite the wish list of random prints, bags, necklaces, bow ties for Joseph, and so many other lovely things.  I also love supporting small business owners!

Check out this bag!  I must have this bag!  This bag is from a shop called Rough and Tumble Bags, check out the full shop HERE!  Lately I am obsessed with waxed canvas bags; they look a bit rugged but also classic.  This is a bag I could use forever!
